Minutes of the last month were approved.
Continuing:
-
Police Accident report -
Bob reported that there was an accident on Oct. 3, 2007 near 231 Davis Road, involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle, at around 4pm. One person was injured and transported.
-
CPC Letter -
Terry reported that he had seen Mary Mady who agreed to send out a letter to all the stewards, which she sent out yesterday. Terry had attended a CPC meeting and asked if there had been any misuse of the land by cyclists and none was reported. When he gets the responses to the letter, he will write a letter to the CPC saying that we have addressed all their concerns.
-
MMB Extension -
Although Ray was unable to attend tonight, he sent word with Joel that whether or not we vote to be on the warrant at Town Meeting, we should continue to go forward with our plans. Terry wants us each to take a petition and obtain 15 signatures by next month's meeting. He also gave us each two pages of petitions already signed to see if each of us could data entry the names, etc. into a file that he will start and send us each the first page so we will see how to do it. Holly will ask at the library if it is appropriate to put our flyers there. He suggested that we take our petitions to the flu shot sessions, Nov. 17 at the Town Hall and Dec. 1 at the Town Center, and any other local gatherings that we attend. As the CPC will definitely have a warrant article we feel we must get on their agenda for their next meeting and if that is not possible then the meeting after that, etc. We will not vote tonight as to whether we want to be included in the warrant until our next meeting but for now, we will assume that we do want that and will either request that or a time slot to make a report on what was done with the $15,000. We formed a subcommittee to set up a special website for the Minuteman Rail Trail extension of Bob, Joel, and Terry.
-
Safe Routes to School -
It was suggested that the BBAC approach the "Kid's Club" with the idea of walking or biking from the town center to the Job Lane School at least once a month, weather allowing. Bob will take this idea to the Rec. Dept.
-
Rec. Dept Fall Bike Training Program -
Joel needs to speak to Susan Grieb about this.
-
NGRT washouts -
We voted unanimously to remove this from our agenda and request that the Trails Committee take it on especially with Chris Lennon who is the official steward of the NGRT.
-
Substandard Bike Racks at Blue Ribbon Plaza -
Holly did email directly to Chris Laskey and got a good response which she forwarded to our committee. Joel and I had been to see the bike rack. It is a good one but Joel is not sure one is enough for the area. He will count the auto spaces, and the town specifications. If we need another, he will let Holly know and she will get back to Mr. Laskey

The new lane configuration on Hartwell Ave. Lexington is now in it's third week. Although there were some traffic backups at first, the drivers are not adjusting. If bad traffic happens often, the project may be scrapped. Terry will meet with the Traffic Mitigation Group on Friday at their meeting.
Next meeting - Dec. 12, 7:30pm, Town Hall
Meeting adjourned 9:00pm.
